Start with the wall, then consider the furniture and how the painting will be seen. A few measured dimensions are more useful than a size chosen from a room photograph alone.
Measure your wall
Measure the available width and height of the wall. Note nearby furniture, doors, switches and other objects. Mark the proposed outline with removable tape and view it from where you normally sit or stand.
Compare proportions
Compare horizontal, vertical and square compositions with the shape of the space. Consider both the painting and the open wall around it. A room illustration helps show a composition, but the actual product measurements determine its size.
Check the finished size
Canvas measurements describe the painting surface. Framed measurements describe the outside edge of the finished frame. Compare the relevant measurement with your wall outline, and check the dimensions of the specific option you select.
